Portugal won without Ronaldo for most of the final (injury). Eder's extra-time winner shocked hosts France.

2012

Spain became the first team to win three consecutive major tournaments. Demolished Italy 4–0 in the final.

2008

Spain's tiki-taka era began here. Fernando Torres scored the only goal in the final.

2004

Greece's stunning triumph — ranked 150th before the tournament. One of the greatest upsets in international football.
